Mission : I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’Matt 25:35-36 (ESV) |

This work was founded on the idea of true religion as God sees it. I first visited the Philippines in 2003. I wanted to see the extent of the poverty in a third world nation. When I would see World Vision and all the children suffering I would break inside and cry and cry. One day I decided I must go and see it. I had to see what I could do. I found myself helpless with so much need every where I turned. Parents had children with them in garbage dumps digging through the rubble with bear hands looking for what ever scraps of metals or plastics they could salvage to sell. The smells were more than i could stand but to them it was normal. Most times there was no money for medications and children would die. Parents also. It is so sad I can't properly explain it. My heart was changed forever. No more can I live for pleasures of this world while I know there are children dieing every second of the day for the lack of food or medications. Parents watching as they can't do anything, waiting and praying and hoping someone will care. Helpless and hopeless as their children or spouse leaves them. |
